Kids Yoga (8-11) Camp with Babita Rajan, Dec 5 - 9

River Valley
Monday - Friday, December 5 - 9, 2022
9am - 12pm

We will embark on a 5-day journey of rediscovering the fundamentals of yoga for children between 7-11 years. Steeped in the Ashtanga yoga tradition (8 limbed path of yoga), we will approach this in a fun, contemplative and inspiring way. In the midst of much stimulation in the modern world, we will focus on taking moments to pause and listen inwards, developing mind and body awareness and challenging our bodies into shapes inspired by nature.

Elements of our camp will include the following:

  • Learning a variety of breathing exercises that can be practiced on and off our mats. This helps children connect mindfully with life experiences, listen to what they are feeling and stay present in the moment.
  • Asanas to develop grounding, strength, flexibility, mobility and balance in our bodies in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Exploring the yamas and niyamas and cultivating awareness of practicing these universal concepts in our day-to-day life through fun activities like journalling, sharing, affirmations and arts.
  • Focus and relaxation practices to calm, soothe and restore young mind and bodies.
Each child is unique and we hope to encourage their yoga experience with patience, compassion and a sense of playfulness and curiosity each day.
