Tibetan Heart Chakra practice – the Yoga of Compassion.
"You cannot enter the door of yoga without kindness and compassion for others." –Changkya Rinpoche
Join Copper and celebrate the holiday season with Tibetan Heart Yoga; cultivating peace and compassion in your life and the lives of others. Bring a friend or come and make new friends–all are welcome!
Tibetan Heart Yoga is an ancient series of holistic practices that bring together the physical and subtle body, mind and emotions to create a deeply profound yogic experience. Known as the Yoga of Compassion, this practice combines the physical poses we all know and love with a traditional Tibetan Buddhist meditation technique known as the Tong-Len (method for destroying suffering and giving away joy and kindness). These two practices together work to untangle the knots around the heart, opening the heart chakra and allowing for a profound experience of connection, love and compassion for all beings.
This is a 90 minute practice consisting of asana, pranayama, mantra, and meditation.
In this workshop, you will learn:
- Theory–What, Why and How
- 6 Perfections of a Bodhisattva (an enlightened being or Yogi)
- Tong-Len (visualization meditation)
- Japa Mantra (sound mala meditation)
- Chakras (energy centres along the spine)
- Asanas (yoga poses)
- Practice (approx. 90 min)
Workshop consists of both physical practice and theoretical discussion. Open to all levels of practitioners. Price includes your own personal mala meditation tool.
Please note that this event is non-refundable.
ABOUT COPPER CROW
Originally from Texas, USA, Copper was first introduced to yoga at age four, by his father and martial art teachers. He practiced yoga throughout his youth, however, it was not until he discovered Bikram Yoga in 1999 that he started to get serious about his hatha/asana practice. He left the corporate world in 2003, resigning from his role as Senior Training Specialist for Charles Schwab to study with Bikram Choudhury at Bikram’s Yoga College of India. He has been a full time Yoga Teacher ever since.
Copper has been leading professional development and leadership courses since 2000, teaching and managing yoga studios in the US and throughout Asia (Bangkok, Seoul, Hong Kong and Singapore) since 2003, including holding the mantle of Country Managing Teacher for a large yoga chain in Singapore for over a decade. He has led over 25 yoga teacher trainings since 2009, and had the great fortune of co-teaching Universal Yoga courses with Master Andrey Lappa for almost ten years.
Copper has been blessed to have studied with many amazing teachers, however his personal style has most heavily been influenced by his five main gurus: his father, Bikram Choudhury, Andrey Lappa, Yogrishi Vishvketu, and Lama Marut. He holds the highest qualifications with Yoga Alliance International Registry (E-RYT1500), Yoga Alliance European Registry (E-RYT1500), Yoga Alliance USA (E-RYT500), Original Hot Yoga Association (Level-3), and Bikram Yoga College of India. He is also the founder of Crow Yoga RYS200, a registered school with Yoga Alliance USA.
