Inversion Fundamentals Series with Jasmine Tay, Mar 12 - 26

River Valley
Sunday, March 12, 19 & 26, 2023
11.45am - 1.45pm

The aim of these 2 hour workshops is to provide a solid foundation for inversions in your practice.

Inversions are believed to release tension, strengthen muscles, increase circulation and energy levels, as well as improve concentration.

We will explore different inversions with a three step approach:

  1. Step by step techniques to learn the fundamentals of each inversion
  2. How to overcome your fear of inversions
  3. How to continue your inversion practice after each workshop

Whether this is your first time going upside down or otherwise, come with an open mind and leave with tools to improve your inversions this year.

What to expect

- Learn drills that build strength, mobility and flexibility
- Create a solid foundation through stability and ease

- Learn the anatomy behind each inversion
- How to safely get in and out of the pose
- Learn different variations
- How to use props, wall and work with a partner

- Cultivate trust and focus so that there is confidence going upside down
- To build greater understanding of ourselves and what we are truly capable of
- Use of our breaths to support and guide us from the start to finish of the pose

This workshop is for all levels.

Yoga has guided Jasmine through both turbulent and joyous times since her early 20s. From her first corporate job to motherhood—yoga has something to offer in every stage of her life. Her practice of self exploration and empowerment has provided her with beneficial tools to face the lessons in life and new enthusiasm to explore the unknown.

Jasmine received her initial 200-hour yoga teacher training through Hom Yoga Singapore in 2014. She has completed a 216-hour Navakarana Vinyasa training in Hong Kong and is also trained in hot yoga, yin and mindful birth yoga for pregnancy, birth and baby. She is endlessly grateful to all of her teachers who have lit the way and humbled to share this light with others.

Jasmine places an emphasis on knowing and honouring one's own limitations, while at the same time nurturing growth through mindfulness and balanced effort. Through her offerings, she continues to hold space for others and this place of service is where she feels most grounded.

"Honor every moment, cultivate gratitude for all, practice for now."
