Join international educator and experienced yoga teacher trainer Laura McEgan for an immersive, inspiring and fully accredited 95-hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training, designed for anyone passionate about bringing the benefits of yoga, mindfulness and emotional regulation to children and teens.

About the Training

This comprehensive certification combines child development, education, yoga philosophy and neuroscience to give you the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to teach all aspects of yoga and mindfulness to children aged 3–18 years.

Over the course of 95 hours, you’ll explore creative, engaging, and evidence-based approaches to children’s yoga that go far beyond simple poses - helping children to build resilience, body awareness, focus and self-regulation through play, movement, art, nature and mindfulness.

What You Will Learn

Module One (April 17 - 20)

This training is practical, inspiring and immediately useful. You’ll explore foundational yoga philosophy, how children’s brains and bodies develop, and the exact tools they need to manage big feelings, build confidence, and regulate their emotions.

You’ll leave Module One with the skills and confidence to start sharing straight away - with your children at home, your students in school, or your community.

During this module, you'll experience interactive live workshops, hands-on activities, collaborative brainstorming, and reflective self-study, you’ll gain real-world skills to support the children in your life, whether you're a teacher, parent, caregiver or yoga practitioner.

Here’s what you’ll explore:

  • Yoga for Early Years & Primary Children (Ages 3–11)
    Learn how to teach yoga, mindfulness and relaxation in ways that are playful, engaging and developmentally appropriate. Blend yoga with proven educational philosophies and child development theory - so you can confidently create classes that match how children really learn, explore and grow. Explore music, storytelling, games, partner work and imaginative play to support strength, focus, emotional awareness and resilience.
  • Breathwork That Actually Works
    Discover fun, age-appropriate breathing techniques that support regulation, sleep, anxiety and high energy — tools children can use in real, everyday moments.
  • Safe, Inclusive Movement Practices
    Understand what’s appropriate at each developmental stage, build safe, creative sequences for different age groups, learning how to modify movement so every child feels supported and included.
  • Rest, Regulation & Relaxation
    Learn how meditation and restorative practices evolve across age groups — from playful visualisations to stillness and self-awareness. Gain a practical toolkit of restorative yoga, relaxation rituals and neuroscience-backed regulation strategies.
  • Partner, Group & Family Yoga
    Teach connection-building practices that promote trust, cooperation and communication — ideal for schools, studios and community settings.

Module 2 (April 22 - 26)

This part of the curriculum is where the magic of yoga truly comes alive in ways that children can feel, understand and apply to their everyday lives.

You'll gain powerful tools to not only engage children through movement and mindfulness, but also to help them navigate life’s challenges, develop self-awareness and build emotional resilience - this is where your impact deepens.

  • Yoga philosophy made practical & playful
    Learn how to share ancient yogic wisdom - chakra system, and the 8 Limbs of Yoga - with children of all ages in a way that’s accessible, creative and completely age-appropriate.
  • Therapeutic tools for Neurodivergent Learners
    You’ll develop a nurturing approach to support children with Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, and social-emotional or communication challenges - using yoga as a gentle, effective and empowering tool.
  • Learn how to share Hindu mythology
    You'll discover how to adapt these powerful stories to teach meaningful life lessons through yoga, breath, and movement. I’ll guide you in how to tailor your teaching for different age groups - from toddlers to teens - and how to share these stories in a way that is respectful and inclusive of different cultures, backgrounds, and belief systems.
  • Behaviour guidance that empowers and uplifts
    Feel confident managing a group of children in a yoga setting with positive, playful techniques that actually strengthen social skills, encourage emotional expression, and create a calm classroom or home environment.
  • Smart sequencing for real learners
    Discover how to plan classes that meet children where they are - based on their learning styles, behaviours, energy levels and interests - so your sessions are always meaningful, manageable and magical.
  • Creative meditation techniques for every age: From story-led visualisations to mindful movement, you’ll discover a toolbox of meditations for children aged 3–18, so you can meet their emotional needs with sensitivity and ease.
  • Yoga for Teens: Support through the tricky years
    Explore challenging poses that inspire Tweens & Teens, and practical approaches for supporting anxiety, stress and self-esteem through tailored practices.
  • Reflect & Release: Therapeutic Mandala Practices
    Dive into creative practices like Mandala Art Meditations and expressive mindfulness activities that help children process their emotions, reflect on experiences, and cultivate deeper self-awareness.
  • Imaginative story-led yoga adventures
    Learn to guide captivating yoga stories and journeys that spark imagination, movement and mindfulness across all age groups.
  • Kids Yoga as a business, and a mission
    Gain practical, real-world strategies to launch, grow and sustain your kids yoga classes - whether you dream of teaching in schools, nurseries, online, in homes, studios, or out in nature.

Who This Training Is For

Our trainees finish the course feeling confident, inspired, and ready to teach. Many arrive with the intention of sharing these practices just with their own children but leave feeling deeply motivated to bring yoga and mindfulness into schools, studios and their wider communities.

For those ready to dive deeper, the full 95-hour training is a globally recognised Yoga Alliance certification that gives you everything you need to teach professionally and meaningfully, anywhere in the world.

This course is open to:

  • Yoga teachers wishing to specialise in children’s or teen yoga.

  • School teachers, therapists, counsellors, or parents looking to integrate yoga and mindfulness into their work or family life.

  • Anyone interested or passionate about supporting children’s emotional, physical and social wellbeing through movement and mindfulness.

No prior teaching experience is required, just a love for working with children and a curiosity to learn.

You’ll leave with practical, ready-to-use tools, beautifully designed lesson plans, and the confidence to share yoga with children of all ages and abilities.

SAMPLE SCHEDULE

8:30am – 12:15pm: Energising, hands-on and skills-based learning including demonstration classes, teaching practices & feedback, interactive group work. (Approx. breaktime: 10:30 – 10:45am)

Workshops include:

  • Yoga & meditation for primary-aged children
  • Yoga games & sequencing
  • Yoga for the Early Years 
  • Challenging poses & strength-based practices for teens
  • Yoga for neurodiverse learners

12:15pm – 1:30pm: Lunch Break

1:30pm – 5pm: Theory & Integration, Restorative & Therapeutic Practices involving group discussions, knowledge transfer and demonstration classes (Approx. breaktime: 3.15-3.30pm)

  • Yoga Philosophy + The Chakra System made accessible for children
  • Nervous system health,development and regulation
  • Breathing techniques (pranayama) for kids and teens
  • Meditation & Mindfulness for kids and teens
  • Restorative yoga + relaxation for stress + anxiety

Note: April 21 will be a self-study day.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations received 30 days before the start of the course incurs a fee of $250.
Cancellations received less than 30 days before the start of the course results in full forfeit of the tuition fee.

With over 25 years of experience in early years education, and 12 years working within yoga and well-being, Laura has trained thousands of educators and yoga teachers across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. She is the founder of Divine Light Yoga (RYS) and Wildflower Well-Being in Hong Kong, offering programmes that integrate yoga, mindfulness, neuroscience and education. Her work has been featured in international schools, well-being conferences and teacher development programmes around the world, and she has been published in leading global education and wellness magazines.
